Cassie Jalilie grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she began playing drums at the age of 12 after joining her middle school marching band. She played in various bands in her teens, and was one of the few female musicians in her local scene. By 19, she joined “TurbonegrA,” a successful all-girl Turbonegro tribute band, where she would set off on her 1st European tour. At the age of 22, Cassie relocated to Los Angeles to join forces with one of her all time favorites Union 13, a hardcore punk band from Boyle Heights. Union 13 got their start playing backyard shows in East Los Angeles before being recognized by Brett Gurewitz, guitarist of Bad Religion and owner of Epitaph Records. The band would produce their first album with none other than Rancid’s Tim Armstrong & Lars Frederiksen. Now, 20 years later, with a new lineup to include Cassie Jalilie on drums, the band is still going strong. She has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in punk rock, and has toured throughout Europe, Latin America & the US and is currently embarking on a North American tour for 80's icon Adam Ant drumming with glitter city rockers, Glam Skanks.
